Pray for: Katherine and Wayne Niles
Katherine and Wayne serve as seconded missionaries to Interchurch Medical Assistance (IMA). Wayne serves as the in-country liaison officer with IMA for financial and accounting matters. Additionally, Wayne has been helping Congolese people through a development project to grow more food.
Katherine is working with a group of Congolese Christian professionals in training community leaders, urban and rural, to be promoters of health in their communities. The staff of a church-related health center in Kinshasa is also using her expertise to make their medical ministry more holistic as they care for urban poor people.
Katherine writes: Wayne and I want to let you know that we will be in the U.S. this fall for US/PR assignment. This feels like an important year of transitions for our family. Wayne's father, Rev. Donald Niles, missionary to DRC for 35 years, went to be with the Lord March 29. As I write, Wayne is with his mother in North Florida. Our oldest son Christopher graduates from the American School of Kinshasa, and when we return to resume our ministry in DRC at the end of US/PR assignment, he will remain in the US, in college. Wayne and I are both MKs (missionary kids) and leaving our visa country (DRC) to "settle" in our passport country (USA) is easily one of the biggest transitions we've made. We covet your prayers for Christopher. We are also seeking the best option for school for Jonathan during the 6 months we will be in the U.S. He will be a junior in high school. Pray with us that we'll get with God's program.
• Pray for Katherine, Wayne, Christopher and Jonathan as they transition to the U.S.
• Pray for their ministry among churches as part of their US/PR Assignment.
• Pray for the successful continuation of their ministries in DRC while they are gone.
